RU students continue strike protesting prof killing

Students of Rajshahi University today continued their protest program on the campus for the consecutive seventh day demanding arrest of the killers of Professor Rezaul Karim Siddiquee.
The students in their thousands attended a rally in the morning.
Witnesses said the protesters brought out a procession in front of the Department of English at about 10:00am.
The procession ended at the Mukul Mancha in front of Shahidullah Arts Bhaban of the campus.
Prof Rezaul Karim, 58, of the RU English department, was killed by miscreants in the city’s Shalbagan area on 23 April.
Victim’s son Sourov Hossain filed a murder case with Boalia police station.
The case later was transferred to the Detective Branch (DB) of police.
Rajshahi University Teachers’ Association on last Monday threatened to go on a nonstop strike if the government failed to arrest the killers within seven days.

UK police hunt Manchester bomber's network

Police scrambled to close down a network around the Manchester suicide bomber with arrests in Britain and Tripoli on Wednesday, as details about the investigation were leaked to U.S. media, infuriating authorities who fear a second attack is imminent.
