80pc teachers like Dhaka: Education Minister

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has said that almost 80 per cent of teachers lobby to get transferred to the capital Dhaka.

The minister said this while speaking at a programme at International Mother Language Institute in the capital on Saturday.

The minister said he recently went to a college outside Dhaka and found only seven teachers working against total 35 posts. There are 3,474 posts vacant in colleges across the country, he added.

Negative impression will be created against those who lobby for transfer this way, Nahid said.
