Kazi Salahuddin re-elected football chief for third term

Kazi Salahuddin has been re-elected as Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president for a third consecutive term in the BFF executive committee elections being held at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka on April 30, 2016.

Out of a possible 134 votes, Salahuddin -- who has served in the post for two terms between 2008 and 2016 -- got 83 votes while his competitor Kamrul Ashraf Khan Poton received 50 votes. One vote among the 134 delegates was cancelled.

The counting for other posts is ongoing.

এক অন্যরকম দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করল ডিরেক্টরস গিল্ড। নির্মাণের সঙ্গে জড়িত নানা গুণীজনদের উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশে সংবর্ধনা দিয়েছে টেলিভিশন নির্মাতাদের সংগঠন ডিরেক্টরস গিল্ড। সংগঠনের গুণীজনদের সংবর্ধনা দেয়ার জন্য প্রথমবারের মতো এমন আয়োজন করে নাট্য নির্মাতাদের এই সংগঠন।মূলত এই সংগঠনের সদস্য যারা একুশে পদক, স্বাধীনতা পুরস্কার ও জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কারে ভূষিত হয়েছেন তাদের সম্মান জানাতেই এই সংবর্ধনার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে বলে জানালেন সংগঠনটির সাধারণ সম্পাদক এস এ হক অলিক। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন নবীন-প্রবীণ নির্মাতা, চলচ্চিত্র ব্যক্তিত্ব, নাট্য ব্যক্তিত্ব, অভিনেতা-অভিনেত্রী ও শুভানুধ্যায়ীরা। শুক্রবার পূর্ব ঘোষণা অনুযায়ী রাজধানীর একটি কনভেশন সেন্টারে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে বেশ কয়েকজন গুণী ব্যক্তিকে সংবর্ধনা দেয়া হয়। মূলত ডিরেক্টরস গিল্ডের যে সকল সদস্য (জীবিত ও মৃত) এযাবৎ স্বাধীনতা পদক, একুশে পদক ও জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার পেয়েছেন সেই সকল গুণী ব্যক্তিত্বকে এই সম্মাননা দেয়া হয়েছে। সম্মাননা প্রদান শেষে সবাইকে নিয়ে ইফতার অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতেই ডিরেক্টরস গিল্ডের প্রয়াত সদস্যদের প্রতি ...
