Case filed over Tangail Hindu tailor murder

Criminals leaves 3 to 4 bomb like objects in a bag at the scene in Gopalpur upazila of Tangail where Nikhil Joardar was hacked to death on Saturday. Three unknown persons have been sued in connection with the killing of a Hindu tailor in Tangail. Aratai Joardar, wife of slain Nikhil Joardar, filed the case with Gopalpur Police Station last night. Unidentified assailants hacked Nikhil, 50, to death at his tailoring shop in Dubail area under Gopalpur upazila in broad daylight yesterday. The motive is not yet clear, but the machete attack resembles the recent spate of targeted attacks that saw secular bloggers, writers and people of different faiths and ideologies killed over the last few years. http://www.natunsomoy.com/Case-filed-over-Tangail-Hindu-tailor-murder/53026

Woman gets 100-year jail term for killing unborn baby in US

A woman in the US has been sentenced to 100 years in prison for cutting a woman`s baby from her womb. In a crime that shocked the nation, Dynel Lane was found guilty in February of seven counts against her, including attempted murder and unlawful pregnancy termination, Xinhua news agency reported. Friday`s sentence was the maximum possible on both counts. Lane, 35, lured an unsuspecting seven-month pregnant Michelle Wilkins to her house in March 2015. She then choked, beat and stabbed Wilkins, 27, before stealing her fetus, which later died. Wilkins, who survived the attack, addressed the court and said Lane lives in a "narcissistic fantasy". Prosecutors did not charge Lane with murder because the coroner said the baby did not live outside Wilkins` body, although Lane`s husband said he heard the unborn baby cry out. Wilkins` father called Lane`s attack "savagery", and Boulder District Judge Maria Berkenkotter called it "brutal, shocki

FBI might soon be allowed to hack any computer in world

The US Supreme Court has approved a change in Rule 41 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, so judges across the country now have the authority to issue warrants for remote electronic searches outside their district. That means that a judge can grant an FBI agent in, say, New York, permission to hack into a computer in San Francisco, or potentially any city in the world, in order to further their investigation. The court documents pertaining to the matter indicate that a warrant will be granted if a suspect uses tools to hide their identity, such as Tor. The amendment, first introduced in 2014, seems intended as a step towards keeping pace with the ever-changing world of cyber crime, but it raises privacy and security issues that tech firms like Google say require further debate. It comes just a week after a Massachusetts judge dismissed evidence obtained by the FBI using a network investigative technique in a case involving a Dark Web site that distributed images of child sex
